OUR Washington Township Accomplishments

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Washington Township Board and members of the community, a lot has been accomplished in Washington Township.

Police, Fire, and Safety

  • Early Warning Emergency Sirens
  • Early warning emergency sirens for the entire Township
  • 800 mghz emergency radios
  • New Fire Personnel
  • New Fire Equipment
  • Opti-com emergency controlled traffic signals

Transportation Accomplishments

  • Working with Road Commission and homeowners to guarantee funding for 31 Mile Road
  • Expansion of M-53 Expressway when funding eliminated the project
  • 30 Mile access to M-53 Expressway
  • Concrete intersections at 29 Mile and Campground, 29 Mile and Mound, and 28 Mile and Campground

Parks and Recreation Accomplishments

  • Expansion of park property
  • Rails for Trails continued when the project was nearly eliminated. Over 20 miles of new trials

Administrative Accomplishments

  • BALANCED BUDGET
  • Working with residents through the SAD process.
  • Accessibility - Always being accessible to the residents, open door policy
  • Ordinance Upgrades (development requirements)
  • Cable coverage of board meetings
  • Village district development
